Wild West Biking

Five days of the best riding in Scotland (and therefore the world)!

Mountain biking is huge in Lochaber. The home of the best downhill race in the world cup circuit also has endless oportunity for wild cross-country riding. Stalkers paths and dirt tracks link the glens and lochs many miles from the roads. You can ride all day without touching tarmac and without seeing a car.

There are miles of trails to enjoy within easy reach of Fort William. The trick is knowing which are good and which are bog trots! Enjoy the best of west coast biking without the strain of choosing the trail, finding the way or organising transport. We'll guarantee great riding, all day routes that take you right into the heart of the hills with the confidence of having a guide to find the way and fix any problems with your bike. Put the mountain back into the biking!

Skills coaching is very often incorporated into the rides as the opportunity arises. If you've been riding for a while, discovering what you've been doing and learning how to do it better will really help your riding. These are tough, long and demanding routes that will test the very best riders and reward them with an experience they will never forget. Biking back home just won't be the same again!

Devil's Staircase on Mountain Bike

Depending on the aspirations of the group we can complete a Tour of Ben Nevis over two days during the week with a night spent at Corrour Station House. This is an amazing experience that will redefine your understanding of mountain biking in Scotland.

This trip includes five days of great riding, based from Fort William. We'll collect you and your bike from your accommodation and return you there each day. Bikes are transported in the back of our van to look after them properly. If you confidently ride red graded trails in the trail centres, you'll get the most out of these rides. The programme below is what we'll try and do but weather, trail conditions and the individuals in the group will all have an impact on the final choice of route. There will be a maximum of five people to one guide.

The price is £450 per person for five days of brilliant riding. You need to provide your bike and accommodation in Fort William but we will provide tools and spares plus the transport.

Make it an extra special week by staying at Kilmalyn Guest House in Corpach. This beautiful old manse is a brilliant base and you'll be very well looked after by Norman and Gillian.

Glen Nevis, the most beautiful glen in Scotland, gives us great riding to start. Riverside single track and the West Highland Way to Lundavra, finishing with the brilliant descent down Cow Hill right back into Fort William.

Day Two

The Wee Devil starts by climbing up Glen Coe and over the Devil's Staircase. The descent to Blackwater Dam is brilliant, technical natural riding. From the Dam to Kinlochleven there's a choice of trails, the best of which, the Cieran Trail, was voted one of the UK's best mountain bike trails 2011 by MBR magazine.

Day Three

A big drive to Glen Torridon for the best MTB Trail in the UK as voted for by MBR Magazine. 45km over the Coulin Pass to Achnashellach and back over Bealach na Lice to Ben Damph forest. The best mountain bike trail in Scotland, the UK and therefore the world!

Day Four

The Morvich Loop at the foot of Glen Shiel goes over a pass on great single track to the head of Glen Affric before turning north back over another col. From here it's a 7km descent dropping 500m on amazing, fun technical single track. One of the best rides in Scotland, an unknown gem.
