Tour of Ben Nevis

Three days of the most remote biking in the UK.

Ben Nevis, the biggest hill in the UK, is a national icon. The Tour of Ben Nevis involves over 100km of great riding to complete the circuit round the peak. After a warm up day we'll head off on continuous off road riding for two days with a night spent at Loch Ossian SYHA Youth Hostel, so remote there is no road access to it.

There are two options for the route. Going anti-clockwise involves mostly double track riding with just a few sections of technical single track. The clockwise route includes some of the best singletrack riding demanding endurance and top wild riding skills. Either way, this is a unique experience of wild mountain biking in the Outdoor Capital of the UK.

Skills coaching is very often incorporated into the rides as the opportunity arises. If you've been riding for a while, discovering what you've been doing and learning how to do it better will really help your riding. These are tough, long and demanding routes that will test the very best riders and reward them with an experience they will never forget. Biking back home just won't be the same again!

The price is Ł310 per person for three days of brilliant riding. You need to provide your bike and accommodation in Fort William but we will provide tools and spares plus the transport, the night at Loch Ossian SYHA and dinner and breakfast.

Non Technical Tour of Ben Nevis

If you're confident riding blue grade trails in trail centres and are used to spending six to eight hours on the bike each day then you'll enjoy this ride.

Day One	A warm up day including riding the best trails in Leanachan Forest to get the legs working and make sure the bikes are set up right ready for the commitment of the tour.
Day Two	We start the tour from Fort William heading south up Glen Nevis and the West Highland Way to Kinlochleven. This is the most technical section of the whole route and good to enjoy with fresh legs. We stay high above Kinlochleven past Loch Eilde Mor and down to Luibeilt. There's a big river crossing here and some wet, grassy trail to get to Loch Treig with a steady climb up to Loch Ossian Youth Hostel for the night.
Day Three	From Loch Ossian it's a beautiful ride along the loch and turning north for a great run down to Fersit. A couple of miles on the road get us to Monessie where we find the trails again to Spean Bridge and a great finish through Leanachan Forest to Fort William and the most amazing views of Ben Nevis.

Technical Tour of Ben Nevis

If you're confident riding red grade trails in trail centres and are used to spending six to eight hours on the bike each day then you'll enjoy this ride. It's very demanding on your skills and stamina.

Day One	A warm up day including riding the Red Trail at Nevis Range, 600m of descent with all the ascent done on a cable car, and a trip to the CIC Hut in the heart of Ben Nevis with a great run down to Fort William.
Day Two	We start the tour from Fort William heading north through Leanachan Forest on the puggy line to reach the steady climb to Lairig Leacach. A little more climbing gets us to a brilliant singletrack descent with an awesome sense of wilderness. There's some wet, grassy trail to get to Loch Treig and a steady climb up to Loch Ossian SYHA for the night.
Day Three	After a short, fast descent back to Loch Treig we have a long push/carry to the col looking over Loch Ciaran. Technical, tight singletrack takes us past the bothy to Blackwater Reservoir. From here the run down to Kinlochleven is well know as one of the best rides in the UK. The West Highland Way then gets us back to Fort William with a climb to start and fast descent to finish in Glen Nevis.
