We will be delivering a Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) Training Course for the Mountain Bike Leader Association (MBLA) on the date below.

TCL Training Course Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th November 2014.

To book your place on one of these courses please complete a booking form here - Booking Form.

The cost of this course is £140 and you can use the Paypal button here to make the payment.

The two day training TCL course covers all aspects of leading groups of bikers on straightforward trails within 30 minutes walk of a road or refuge. To attend the course you need to be registered for the TCL with MBLA and have 20 rides in your log book within the last year. The course syllabus will be tailored to your previous experience and will include aspects of leadership, personal riding skills, trail side bike repairs, emergency procedure and navigation.

Some of the course is based in doors but the majority is based outside riding bikes. You need to bring along your bike and clothing, packed lunch and drinks. The course will start at 9am with an indoors session for an hour or so. There is a kit list here to help you out - Kit List.

We will be delivering Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) Assessment Courses for the Mountain Bike Leader Association (MBLA) on the dates below.

TCL Assessment Course Friday 13th March 2015.

To book your place on one of these courses please complete a booking form here - Booking Form.

The cost of this course is £80 and you can use the Paypal button here to make the payment.

The venue for the assessment course will be announced closer to the course but will be within reach of Fort William. Please arrive ready for a 9.00am start. Bring along your bike, bike computer, clothing, log book and training manual given to you by MBLA. Also, please bring your TCL Training Course Report. The course will start indoors for an hour or so first and there will be the chance to change into biking clothes for the riding outside.

Please check through this document very carefully to make sure you are fully prepared for this assessment. Answer the questions on the home paper and be ready to present your answers first thing on the assessment.

MBLA TCL Joining and Home Paper.

The day will finish at around 5pm but be prepared for it to continue to 6pm. We will try to spend as much time as possible on the bikes but there is also lots of time spent discussing various aspects of the scheme. We will not be riding for eight hours continuously but we will ride around 25km.

You need to come prepared as you would as a TCL holder leading a group for the day with a first aid kit, tools and spares and group clothing and emergency shelter.

As always, if you have any queries, concerns or questions please give me a call straight away so we can get everything ready for the course before we start.
